Leadership bios

Henry White
Creating Corobus has been a dream of mine for quite some time. Throughout my years of coaching, I recognized a gap in skill development opportunities for ice hockey, baseball, and softball in the northern Virginia area. This recognition led to the exciting journey of building Corobus, a place where athletes of all ages can come together to learn, grow, and excel in their chosen sports.
Having been immersed in the world of sports since the age of 3, my journey has been deeply rooted in athletics. Beginning with baseball, ice hockey, basketball, soccer, and tennis, I explored various sports early on. As I progressed to high school, I narrowed my focus to baseball and hockey, investing my time and dedication into refining my skills. This commitment carried forward into college, where I played hockey for Lehigh University at the Division 1 College Club level. Through my passion for playing these sports, I transitioned into coaching.
Starting at Lehigh and throughout my adult years, the opportunity to coach has allowed me to teach, inspire, and shape the next generation of athletes. Over the course of my close to 35-year coaching career, I have dedicated significant time to coaching hockey and baseball. Having been involved with a variety of programs throughout my career ranging from learn-to-play initiatives to elite travel baseball and hockey teams plus high school hockey teams, I have an understanding of players at every level of the sport. Each of these experiences has allowed me to develop a coaching philosophy with an emphasis on dedication, teamwork, mental toughness, and continuous self-improvement. By ingraining these principles in young athletes, my ultimate goal is to inspire them to unlock their full potential, not just in sports, but in all facets of life. This philosophy underscores my commitment to fostering well-rounded individuals who can excel both on and off the field while contributing positively to their teams and communities.
In addition to coaching both sports, I have an extensive background in officiating ice hockey and teaching officiating skills. Having served in various roles within USA Hockey’s SouthEastern District Officiating Staff, including Evaluation Coordinator, Tournament Officiating Coordinator, and Supervisor of Officials for Virginia, I have worked hard to help others improve their hockey officiating. My involvement in the National Officiating Development program and oversight of multiple national tournaments added to my experience. Together with coaching, officiating and playing, I have developed an in-depth knowledge of the game of ice hockey that I enjoy sharing with others.
